THUNDER MAKES WINNING EASY IN SAINT JOHN
SAINT
JOHN, NB - December 19, 2009 - The Cornwall Thunder bounced back for a
convincing 7-3 win over the Saint John Vitos as they finished
their two game road trip Saturday in the Port City.
The Thunder won every period outscoring the Vitos 2-1 in the first and
finishing the second up 5-2 and wildly outshooting the home team 36 to
19 over the three periods.
The Thunder have now completed their scheduled games leading up to
Christmas while the Vitos will be in Miramichi tomorrow at the
Lord Beaverbrook.
Brandon Carter and Josh Bowman each scored two goals to lead the
Thunder victory while Devan Gunn had four assists over the game. Also
scoring were Cameron Arsenault, who opened the scoring onslaught just
over six minutes into the game and down by one, Griffin Gallant
and Adam Wight.
Besides Gunn, assists went to Jonathan Richards, Dakota Vessey and Matt Kelly.
Vito’s Ryan Langan opened the game’s scoring just over two minutes into
the first, Andrew Dolan scored in the second, again just over two
minutes in and Dylan Jones closed out the Vitos scoring early in the
third.
Chris Gallant was the winning goalie with 16 saves while Andrew Mergel tok the loss making 29 saves.
This was Cornwall's 1st road win off Island this year
