Cornwall 5 vs Charlottetown 1

Cornwall PE - The Cornwall Superior Thunder defeated the Charlottetown Marks Work Wearhouse Islanders 5 -1 in NB/PEI Major Midget Hockey league action Wednesday night in Cornwall
Scoring for Cornwall Brandon Carter (2-1) , Isaac Jay (2) and Dakota Vessey . Other assists were credited to Devan Gunn (3) , Matt Kelly (2) , Drew Coulson (2) , Griffin Gallant and Nathan Ellis.
Scoring for Charlottetown was Craig MacLaughlan with assists to Jordan McInnis and Harrison Wood.
Cornwall goalie Chris Gallant recorded the win making 31 saves. Stephen Miller suffered the loss blocking 19 shots.
With the win Cornwall moves out of the basement and into 5th place one point ahead of Charlottetown. The win last night also gives Cornwall a record of 4 wins 1 loss against Charlottetown with 2 games remaining , which assures Cornwall Home ice advantage (if there is one).
Cornwall plays St John in Kensington Friday and hopes to reverse the trend of losing after beating Charlottetown. Sometimes the head gets a little bigger than it should.
