Thunder moves back into the basement losing to the Fredericton Canadians 6 to 1. A lack of attention to detail and lackluster play led to the loss. The Thunder continues its pattern of playing poorly after a win. Outworked and out hustled for most of the game there were very few bright spots, for the Thunder.
Fredericton got their first goal just over three minutes into the game and just kept scoring as they built a 3-0 lead at the end of the first and were up 4-0 by the time the whistle blew after the second. In fact they had scxored five straight goals before allowing the Thunder on the board and answered back just over two minutes later to take the game 6-1.
Brett Barnhill had two goals, including what eventually turned out to be the game winner and Nick Jordan had a pair, including an empty netter as Cornwall tried a comeback with just over three minutes left in the game.
Also scoring for Fredericton were Paul Comeau and Dylan Desmeules. Peter Trainor had a pair of assists.
Cornwall’s lone goal was scored by Stefan Lapierre with assists going to Griffin Gallant and Brandon Carter.
Winning goaltender Seamus Bowen stopped 18 of the 19 shots that came his way. Chris Gallant was kept busy for the Thunder, stopping 31 of 37 shots for the loss.
