Gunn's Pair Leads Thunder over Vitos

CORNWALL, PE—Devan Gunn scored a pair of goals, including the game winner at 16:35 of the third period, to lead the Cornwall Superior Thunder to a 4-3 victory over the Saint John Vitos in NB/PEI Major Midget Hockey League action played Saturday in Cornwall.

Drew Coulson and Evan Carmody also scored for the Thunder. Assisting were Dakota Vessey, Isaac MacDonald, Isaac Jay, Matt Kelly, Adam Wight, Jonathan Richards, and Devon Parsons. Dylan McQuaid earned the goaltending win, stopping 22 of 25 shots.

Scoring for the Vitos were Sam Maguire with a pair, and Jared Hicks. Assisting were Scott Fenwick (2), Ryan Langan, and Chris McGraw. Kyle Cameron suffered the loss in goal, stopping 31 of the 35 shots he faced.

Cornwall plays the Fredericton Canadians in Montague at 2:00 pm. Fredericton defeated the Moncton Flyers 7 to 4 pm Saturday in Moncton
